Apparently, that "picked our own cotton" meme, the realization that the importation of Africans had been a huge mistake from the start, is inexplicably seen as racist by liberals and leftists.

After all, mass importation of aliens has worked out so well for the West, right?
The highest moral value should be the continued existence of a good race, and its racial improvement. That takes priority over all economic and lifestyle considerations.
There is nothing wrong with endless economic growth. The fact that you subliminally equate diversification with growth is half the reason why the Right has a hard time making the case against immigration.
What’s wrong with endless economic growth is that it’s not possible. The reason diversification is equated with (high) growth is that the cheap labour helps companies easily turn larger profits and generate more output.
But any genuine prosperity comes about through increasing productivity. Cheap labour can definitely pad bottom lines, but it doesn't help much with improving the machines that make it easier for labor to create more.
The book Propaganda by Jacques Ellul states that one of the presuppositions of man is that of continual technological progress. That is, the myth that conditions continually improve over time through technological innovation. Ellul argues that propaganda can succeed in hardening one’s beliefs; it doesn’t create new beliefs. Therefore, federalism cannot be propagandized for due to it challenging the widely held belief of continuous progress, of which administrative centralization is an integral part. Thus, one cannot influence people towards self-determination, insofar as it is actually a new belief among the constituents.
The South African zeitgeist has witnessed the myth of continuous progress delegitimized with the decades-long deterioration in the quality of life. This has laid the foundation for earlier mainstream adoption of self-deterministic projects like Orania. America does not have the same soil, caveat the most disaffected groups. However, I do see a growing trend of rejecting continuous progress, as AI threatens livelihoods and meaning. Perhaps this is the catalyst that will ignite the new age of self-determination.
I do think propaganda can create new beliefs in the sense that certain stimuli can change people’s core beliefs if they are primed to accept them.
In this matter, we should separate what transpired in SA from progress. That was not progress in any sense of the word; we can’t just call “progress” anything that has ever been labeled “progress”. If I let the animals out of the zoo and call it “progress”, you can’t judge it by the same standard as a Fortune 500 company that imports cheap Guatemalan labour into the US and calls it “progress” because of lower costs.
My main point is that we have to ask ourselves the question if “progress” in the sense of an ever-growing economy is desirable. I say “no”, it is not. Obviously, what happened in SA is not desirable by any metric. Economy growth, however, can be desirable in certain respects, but it it is the proxy measure which has come to replace the true measure of success: the general welfare of the West as a people and civilization.
If given the choice between 1) low economic growth with an existent nation/people and 2) high economic growth with a non-existent nation/people, which would you choose.
That’s what it comes down to. It’s whichever you ultimately find more important. Loyalty brooks no ‘and’; you cannot serve both God and Mammon.
But this is a false dichotomy. The West has diversified not because of its dependence on comfort and mammon, but chiefly because the only way to smooth our decline. Of course, I would prefer 1 over 2, but 2 isn't even happening anywhere in the world, except in Dubai.
I do think a system has come about where key players in the West import cheap labour precisely because they are trying to operate and compete in an ever more competitive economy where cutting costs are important to provide the end consumer, the Westerner, with luxury products for comparatively cheap prices.
How is importing more useless 3rd world biomass helping manage the decline? You’d think decline management would be exactly the opposite — slowly removing them while trying to compensate with technology.
If your ability to create or adopt technology is limited (as has been the case for the last 50-some years outside of anything with a screen), you're going to be incentivized to jack up the population because more people means a bigger (if not prosperous) economy.
That depends on your incentives. Some people see money and a large economy as an end in and of itself. Others sees at as a means to an end. I fall into the latter category, and I hope you would too.
I've seen enough places built up by a couple of talented guys, so town improvements isn't a great indicator. Or they use volunteers.
But population growth is interesting. It could just be couples coming in, which doesn't help young singles. Access to love is a top issue. I'm personally torn with it; hate the city but want to find a wife.
You talk of things that are not any of the Americans buisness, us boers are strong harty people orania will continue to grow, been there myself im from the ec its beautiful up there and the people are lovely
orania is white, but its not a white ethnostate or a white identarian project. The fact that 100% of its inhabitants are white is coincidental b/c Afrikaners are 100% White.
The parellel to wealthy Filipinos being reliant on cheap domestic labor is striking. This is probably true for many nations with a huge Gini coefficient. But in a lack of self sufficiency is a certain unease. Better to put in the hard work.
I've got mixed feelings about the "true nature" of Western self-hate but what you point out in the first paragraph here is just the way it is. It's incredible how so many millions of White people staunchly, irrationally see total diversification and civilizational dissolution as a non-negotiable, live-or-die question. If you don't agree, you're Hitler and the Gestapo, and you need to be waged total war upon until you're ready to come around to their <<unquestionable truth>>: that the White West needs to be 100% subverted (and destroyed). I suppose the roots of this problem are as historically and sociologically deep as they are complex.
One thing I take away from this: <<"If Orania were to start allowing even a small amount of Black and Brown people to work on construction projects or care for the elderly, its entire raison d’etre collapses">>; one of the main political raison d'etre nowadays for the leftists is the good ole "they do all the dirty work, so shut it". And I think this matter is really close to the heart of the problem: a people (and a civilization) that loses its taste for difficulty, for conflict, for the uncomfortable things of nature... will devolve sooner or later.
To say it’s socialism is too narrow, although socialism is the end result of the anti-Western sentiments.
The belief that people groups are 100% interchangeable and that it wouldn’t matter if say England were 20% White English is absurd to me and I don’t know how any self respecting White Anglo could accept it. It’s a totally different temperament and sentimentality than mine.
Colleges seem a key channel in turning people into race communists, the fact is that the average person is a midwit and buys into the first thing they ever hear. Professors in positions of authority espouse socialistic dogmas about equality and what everyone is entitled to. It results in a bunch of entitled man-children.
Not that I disagree but to comment further on something important: I didn't mention socialism, I mentioned leftism. I think the two are separable (more so today than ever before). Socialism is an "umbrella" political phenomena that encompasses an entire period of modern society and is quite complex to assess with honesty and depth.
What I specifically refered to here, maybe summarized is: I think an important point made in this essa is that in the industrial society we live in, if you reject the crudeness of menial jobs and hard practical work and want to escape from it at all costs (which is what defines the Boomers, essentially) you may be signalling a certain lack of blood that characterizes societies in decline. Other men will do the practical work necessary to sustain life and physically organize vital spaces, which in the end, like it happens with many other things we have forgotten, is the basis for real power.
I didn't mean to suggest you meant socialism I was throwing it out as a possible reason. Sorry for the confusion. And I agree with your point about crude menial jobs.
Orania’s greatest strength and weakness are its people’s unrelenting commitment to cleaning their own toilets and mowing their own lawns.

But is this not a re-statement of "we should have picked our own damned cotton"? Orania learned. We ... did NOT.
Who is "we"?
White US Southerners, reacting to the immense negative impact on America of ghetto blacks and their culture.
Apparently, that "picked our own cotton" meme, the realization that the importation of Africans had been a huge mistake from the start, is inexplicably seen as racist by liberals and leftists.
And may I present an analogy?

It used to be said of White South Africans that they woyld rather be killed in their beds than make their own beds. ‘Own Labour’ is the key.
The highest moral value should be the continued existence of a good race, and its racial improvement. That takes priority over all economic and lifestyle considerations.
No one is going to do that if they don't get something out of it.

It’s hard for modern people to break out of the mental straightjacket of endless economic growth and “progress”.
But that is ultimately what is needed.
There is nothing wrong with endless economic growth. The fact that you subliminally equate diversification with growth is half the reason why the Right has a hard time making the case against immigration.

Endless economic growth is a neoliberal fantasy. There are limits to resources, land, human numbers.

Then those who didn't reject economic growth will out grow you. Eventually, you'll end up being the servants making their beds.
Pick your poison.

Thank You Edward. I think I've finally struck a goldmine.
White Australia was adopted as policy so white men would cut their own cane and dig their own latrines and not sit on black labour.
Any idea how they’re dealing with their best youth leaving the place? That’s usually how nice little communities die in a couple of generations.
TBH, I've no idea. They could be hemorrhaging or keeping their talent for all I know.
It's pretty clear that enoughalent has stayed, as evidenced by continuous population growth and the town's physical improvement.
I've seen enough places built up by a couple of talented guys, so town improvements isn't a great indicator. Or they use volunteers.

Or they get lazy and start bringing in outside help to do the grunt work.
Or you’re a cynical white gay faggot.
I hope such communities grow as well in Europe
Isn’t it basically an Afrikaner ethno-state?
I’d like to live in a community like that so I can get away from white leftists.
You talk of things that are not any of the Americans buisness, us boers are strong harty people orania will continue to grow, been there myself im from the ec its beautiful up there and the people are lovely
I don't understand the title to this essay. I see how it's nit an ethnostate but how is Oriana not White?
forgive me, the title is a bit of a shit post.
