From a Westerner whose people have already been through this wringer:

NOO!! Deport while you still can!

2,000 Chinese with BPO rights enter the UK to live every week. Housing where I live is in part unaffordable because of hundreds of Chinese that have arrived and helped colonise and destroy my small town. I don't care what happens to HK that's there problem. England is my concern first and foremost.

HK is not HK unless the local culture and ethnos utterly dominates.

They must learn from the collapsing West. Deport the unassimilables while you still can and expell all Africans and muslims, before they instinctively and irreversibly turn HK into sludge.

Why the hell would you want a live-in servant in a shoebox apartment?

Because their lazyness is greater than their need for privacy. Also it is a status issue where once one person has a slave everyone needs to get one if they want to be seen as successful.

Why can't you deport them or have an apartheid system? The gulf states and Singapore both have this

This way --- the boo-hoo-hoo essay above --- this way lies madness. You can't see it, with the whole of the West right in front of your eyes as a glaring Negative Example?

Sounds like they need to be deported right now rather than later

So you’re looking after Susie, I presume?

Or is that the State’s job?

It's a slippery slope. If Hong Kong-ness can be learned, if it's just a a series of rituala, those can be changed. What do you teach Mexican-Americans about the Mexican-American War? Well, depends.

People aren't economic units. What you have now are people in an identity purgatory. They've never known their home country. But they're not Cantonese either. That will change if there are significant numbers.

Bringing in migrant pseudoslaves to do all the menial jobs will greatly suppress the birthrate as it is generally the lower end of the working classes that have the most children and Hong Kong has destroyed their job security and wages so the middle and upper classes don't have to cook and clean for themselves.

Hong Kong a British Colony till 1997 had an easy acess to chinese immigrants with Free Movement and Adobe Policies.

And as you said 2001 rulings restricted mainland chinese immigrants into the city.

And fear of importing underpaid workers of chinese origin would change political scenario and Believeing black and brown import would not change it.

That has shaped the current Black and Brown realities of Hong Kong.

In rugby 15's, Scotland. In 7's, Hong Kong as ridiculously Scotland don't have a 7's team, even more ridiculously, team GB got relegated from the 7's last weekend, so there will be no Scots, English, or Welsh at the next 7's

It's been a bit uncanny as an American married to a Filipina, to meet my online HK students, and invariably see the brown helper fussing with laundry or picking up scattered toys in the background. A lot of native HK are Christian and it's hard to imagine them being unkind, but it's upstairs/downstairs in the end. Perhaps one day the whole word shall be united in service to priveleged Whites and East Asians.
